New hall in Cologne: Capacities expanded

With a new hall in Cologne, Heitmann Stahlhandel is significantly increasing its storage and processing capacities. For our customers, this means even more ability to deliver, even if they need it at short notice.

The newly built hall in the port of Niehl I houses not only a spacious high-bay warehouse on an area of around 2,000 m², but also a high-performance sawing centre: steels are sawn to a fixed length on three band saws, a circular saw and other saws and assembled by robots.

In the new warehouse and sawmill, we mainly process quality and high-grade structural steel, unalloyed structural steels as well as heat-treated and case-hardened steels. Above all, our customers in mechanical and plant engineering thus benefit from even faster completion of their orders, possibly even overnight. In the optimal case, an order is delivered the next morning with one of our trucks.

In this way, the new building strengthens the performance of the entire Heitmann Group. At a time when many farms are migrating to the surrounding area, it is also to be understood as a commitment to the location. Accordingly, despite automation, we have also increased the number of employees in Cologne.
